Group Whale Watching

Description

Seasonal Tour: Available mid Jan – mid April

Our whale watching adventure gives you a front row seat to one of the most impressive shows on earth!! As we explore Turk’s Bank, we hope to encounter the majestic North Atlantic humpback whales in a variety of stunning and captivating ways.

Whether through boat based sightings or in-water encounters, seeing these amazing creatures in their natural habitat has changed the lives of many people. Our goal is to have the presence of the whales touch your heart and enrich your way of seeing the world!

Whale Watching Adventure Tour Highlights

Purpose-Built 48’ Power Catamaran: Enjoy your tour aboard our custom 48’ catamaran, equipped with shaded or sunny seating, an elevated flybridge to allow our captain a better opportunity to locate whales from a distance, a marine toilet, and a PA system for clear narration.

Up-Close Whale Encounters: These once in a lifetime sightings could include the tender, gentle relationship between a mother and their newly born calf, adults traveling, males singing, or a competitive group of males physically competing to impress a female.

Respectful Whale Watching: We take a gentle, respectful approach to whale watching, using our knowledge of the whales’ behaviors and local waters to locate them without disturbance, ensuring an ethical and memorable encounter.

Experienced Marine Biologist: Our experienced marine biologist and whale specialists will inform you about the whales and deepen your understanding and appreciation for these gentle giants through education alongside sightings.

Hydrophone for Whale Song: Experience the enchanting humpback whale song live, when conditions permit, a phenomenon that only occurs in the breeding grounds! If there are no Whales singing that day we’ll play a previous recording, as we believe that everyone who comes to visit should be able to experience this beautiful song!

Whale Nursery: Grand Turk has recently been discovered as a breeding ground for humpback whales, with our protected, shallow waters providing a nursery for mothers and calves. Witness the extraordinary bond between mothers and newborns as they nurse, swim, and learn the ways of the ocean. It is believed that our shallow, protected waters are used as a nursery and playground for these mothers and their new calves. With a newborn calf by her side, the mother will often stay around in the same shallow areas, allowing her new calf the ability to nurse and grow strong enough for the big journey back to their feeding grounds of the North, while she has an opportunity to rest and recover worry free.

In-Water Encounters (Conditions Permitting): If sea conditions and whale behaviors allow, you’ll have the unique opportunity to slip into the water, accompanied by our guides and experience these gentle giants from an entirely new perspective.

Photographic Documentation: Our guides carry photo and video equipment to help identify and learn more about each whale we encounter, contributing to ongoing research and a deeper understanding of these majestic creatures lives and personalities.

Join us for an unforgettable whale watching experience in Grand Turk, where you’ll witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles up close!
